We delighted to announce the launch of a special project celebrating the 300th anniversary of the premiere of Handel’s Water Music on the River Thames, in collaboration with Reverie Choir.
Throughout the summer term, the LYC Boys’ Choir will be participating in weekly drama, poetry and composition workshops during their Monday evening rehearsals. These will culminate in a special gala performance in July, in which they will perform songs that they have composed as a choir.
Calling Boys aged 7 – 11
This project presents a unique and exceptional opportunity for primary school-aged boys to gain experience in composition supported by industry professionals. The sessions will allow the participants to understand the structure and shape of music, poetic styling, and will also educate about the remarkable history of the Thames.
If you know a young boy aged 7 – 11 (school years 3 – 6) who would like to take part, we will be holding a special workshop evening for boys on Monday 24th April, which will serve as an informal audition for the choir. This workshop will run from 4.30 – 6pm, and is free to attend.
