Greg Beardsell is a leading light in music education and performance. He is Music Director of the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland, the Royal College of Music Chamber Choir and the Irish Youth Choir, Deputy Artistic Director of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and Choral Director for the Gabrieli Consort and Players’ education initiative, Gabrieli ROAR. This year, he launched the inaugural International Youth Choir Festival at the Royal Albert Hall. He works worldwide as a conductor, adjudicator, workshop leader and presenter.

He has presented seminars on conducting, choral techniques and teaching strategies for the MusicEdExpo, Cambridge University, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Music Generation Ireland, Ark Schools, Musical Futures, Cornell University New York and music education hubs across the UK.

In recent years, Greg has held the directorships of the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus, Ulster Youth Choir, Wooburn Singers and has worked with the St. Endellion Festival Chorus, BBC Symphony Chorus, London Bach Choir and the London Symphony Chorus and collaborated with conductors such as Marin Alsop, Edward Gardner and Sir Colin Davis. He has directed the Sagittarian Consort of Cambridge, the Classical Soloists Orchestra, period specialists La Nuova Musica, the National Youth Orchestras of Ireland and Ulster, the City of London Sinfonia, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Ulster Orchestra.

Ever keen to collaborate, Greg has worked with electro-acoustic musicians, Irish folk bands, Indian musicians, dance companies and jazz bands. This year he created a new company Vox Office which provides bespoke professional choirs for pop musicians and other collaborators. Greg is the Host for the UK Choir of the Year competition, and over the past few years has been a guest-presenter on BBC Radio 3’s The Choir’ and ‘Live in Concert’ programmes.
