Boys in school years 3 – 6
The London Youth Boys’ Choir is an auditioned choir for boys in school year 3 – 6 (ages 7 – 11) with unbroken voices, who love singing and making music with others to a high standard. Membership of the Boys’ Choir gives young male singers the opportunity to develop their musicianship and vocal skills, learn to sing in different languages and to perform in exciting venues, whilst making new friends from across London in a fun and supportive environment.
The Boys’ Choir perform several concerts throughout the year with recent highlights including performing at Milton Court with the Hendon Band of the Salvation Army, singing at the Capital One Cup Final at Wembley, singing alongside the choir of St Paul’s Cathedral and featuring on national television with Gareth Malone (Who Do You Think You Are, BBC1) and Jamie Oliver (Food Revolution).
The Boys’ Choir rehearses on Monday evenings from 4.45 – 6pm during term time at St Katherine Cree Church, Leadenhall Street, EC3A 3BP. Membership of the choirs is by audition; find out more on our join us page. Boys’ Choir members participate in at least one London-based concert per term. Members of the Boys’ Choir pay a subsidised termly fee of £85 which includes a complimentary LYC polo shirt and concert folder. A comprehensive bursary scheme is available to provide assistance with the cost of termly fees, travel costs and concert uniform.
